the talk
Thank you for the tremendous service that you provided to Code.org as our Event Manager for our three week-long teacher conferences in Houston, Phoenix, and Philadelphia this summer. You jumped in and provided critical guidance and hands-on support to our Education team late in the planning phase, ensuring that all workflows were defined, materials ordered, menus planned, space plans finalized, and vendors contracted.
Throughout the summer, you provided excellent on-site event management that resulted in a superior experience for our 1,800 conference attendees, while proactively solving problems and saving money for the organization. You stayed engaged with our team throughout, lending your sharp eye for detail and your tireless energy and good humor, even during the most stressful of times. Knowing you had the logistics handled, our staff was able to focus on executing on the content of the conferences.
Michelle Page, Code.org
Thank YOU, Cate! It’s been such a pleasure to work with you and I don’t know if I/we can adequately convey our appreciation for helping make this summer a reality when our team was at a low point.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer, with emphasis on the ‘rest’ part 🙂
Sarah Filman, Code.org
We are SO grateful that we got to work with and learn with you this summer. Thank you for all of your guidance, your huge amount of work, and your endless ability to keep us smiling. I really don’t know what I would have done without you.
❤

Thanks Cate. You are rarity in this business, a wonderfully fun & pragmatic personality. Usually that means a great relationship and a successful event. If there is anything I can do to help you now or in the future, never hesitate to call! Take care.

Thank you for the stellar effort and the stellar outcome from last week’s TC16. It was a heckuva challenge, I know. Between working around the rain, managing election reactions, figuring out protests, watching our budget tightly, and dealing with major pests (both competitive and of the fire ant variety) while running a smooth, classy and fun conference that delighted our customers – and doing all of that in a venue that wasn’t the easiest – again all I can say is wow. Congratulations and thank you from the bottom of my heart. And on behalf of everyone at Tableau, congratulations!
Elissa Fink, Tableau Conference 2016
Cate Nedved’s professionalism, creativity and impeccable organization skills are inherent in everything she does. As a long-time beneficiary of Cate’s expertise, I learned quickly that I could stop worrying about details because Cate would have already seen to them, as well as a host of other aspects I wouldn’t have thought of. She also grasped the outcomes I was looking for quickly, and shaped solutions that ensured the experiences I wanted for my donors were achieved. In the end, her knowledge and care allowed me to concentrate on my work, confident that those items under Cate’s authority were in good hands.

Between rain, the election, protests, fire ants, and our friends from DOMO, you all were the highlight of my week in Austin. It started with a near flawless execution of our biggest and arguably best Tableau Conference yet, and continued on as you navigated the challenges of the week and rose above each and every time. I am so incredibly proud of each of every one of you and so thankful to get to work with such a world-class events team. I hope that at some point during the week you were able to stop and reflect on the amazing product of all your hard work and effort.
Amy Barone, Tableau Conference 2016
Cate is an incredible project manager and I would recommend her without reservations. She has the rare ability to be both a high-level visionary and someone that can put an action plan in place and get results. She is incredibly detail-oriented and also has the ability to visualize an event or outcome and make strategic and effective plans and decisions. I would recommend her to work on-site at an event of any size. She is calm and competent on-site, strategically and effectively solving problems, usually even anticipating the issue prior to it becoming a problem. In addition to her project management abilities, Cate is a joy to have on your team. She has great leadership and relationship management skills – people (donors, volunteers, attendees, staff – everyone!) not only enjoy working with her but become more productive team members under her leadership.
